Reading books will be sent home weekly in Year 1, 2 and 3. Your child will receive two reading books (one phonic and one keyword) for the week. These will then be returned the following week. Your child’s class teacher will let you know the day your child’s books will be changed.
Once returned, these books will be placed in quarantine for a minimum of 72 hours (following COVID guidelines) before they are returned to circulation.
When we have a COVID-secure system in place, the frequency of changes will increase. Currently, children in Year 1, 2 and 3 will not be able to take library books home. This will be reviewed at half term.
Please note: we will not be sending children home with reading records.
If you have any reading books at home from last term, please can you return them to school as soon as possible? These books will also be quarantined before being added back into circulation.
Should you have any questions about reading books, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher. Thank you in advance for your patience while we get systems up and running.
