Aiming High Learning for Life

Parent Council

At Putnoe Primary School, we recognise the importance of and value parental involvement in the life of the school. We believe that education is a collaborative enterprise involving amongst others, parents, staff and children. We are committed to establishing and maintaining an effective and purposeful working relationship between the school and home.

To make good use of parents’ expertise and willingness to enhance their own learning and that of their child and other children and to actively involve them in school life we will encourage parents to:

  • Attend class assemblies
  • Attend school performances, events and celebrations
  • Become involved in school projects
  • Participate in Family and Adult Learning events organised by school
  • Join or support the school Parent Council
  • Use opportunities to have informal discussions with staff members

If you would like to help provide opportunities to enrich your child’s learning and meet other parents, email us to find out more information.

Parent Council Adaptions for September 2020/2021

Our Parent Council has been adapted so that it is ‘Covid Safe.’  Parents are currently unable to come into school to attend school events such as class assemblies, performances , projects, events and celebrations. Parents are also currently unable to participate in Family and Adult Learning events organised by the school.

However, parents are able to join or support the school Parent Council by e-mailing

We would also welcome any ideas or suggestions that you may have to develop new events or ways of fundraising in these difficult times.

We hope to carry out a ‘remote’ Second Hand Uniform Sale whereby parents can pay remotely via ‘ParentPay’ and the uniforms will be delivered to the child in their classroom. We also hope to carry out an ‘online  Xmas shop’ this term – more information will follow.

Thank you for your continued support.
