Attendance Expectations

Attendance is mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age. This means it’s your legal duty as a parent to send your child to school.

If you have concerns about your child attending, you should discuss these with your child’s class teacher — they may refer you to the attendance officer or the head teacher for further support.

All clinically extremely vulnerable children and young people should attend their education setting unless they are one of the very small number of children and young people under paediatric or other specialist care who have been advised by their clinician or other specialist not to attend.
